Latvians and Lithuanians have a common origin. Our countries have a similar history, the geographical situation and language. It seems that we know everything, but if we ask any student, what he or she knows about neighbouring Latvia (Lithuania), then it is very difficult to obtain a wide range of answers. This project will provide an opportunity to learn more about each other. The aim of the mobility is to be familiar with and compare two Baltic countries, to find out main similarities and differences in history, geography, languages and culture by direct contacts and through ICT. Pupils from Latvia and Lithuania will have a chance to learn about their neighbouring country’s history, customs and traditions, express their patriotic feelings and to prepare for long life learning. For this reason pupils will need to go into the past to find their future. During mobility activities each country will present museums, heritage sites, national parks, geographical features, language, songs, dances, cuisine by direct contacts and through ICT. Taking part in this project will help to promote national identity by learning about important historical and heritage sites and developing an understanding of their own country. As a result, they will improve ICT, communication and language skills, become more self-confident and knowing the past will easier and more confidently venture into the future to enjoy long life learning. The expected final products will be the video presentations containing the main similarities and differences in history, geography, language and culture with evidence of the mobility activities in Latvia and Lithuania.
This project will provide an opportunity for students to learn more about history, customs and traditions in Latvia and Lithuania.
The aims of the project are:
· to be familiar with and compare two Baltic countries,
· to find out main similarities and differences in history, geography, languages and culture by direct contacts and through ICT, using creativity, implementation innovations in education,
· to energize the curriculum with a real-world relevance,
· to sparkle students' desire to explore, investigate and understand their world and get ready for the future lifelong learning.
Students will gain a new experience in developing and raising their desire to learn and compare the neighbouring country's culture, traditions, application of new technologies and learning methods for lifelong learning.
The main objectives of the project are:
· to expand and strengthen cooperation between Baltic States' schools,
· to include the project activities into the curriculum of: English, Biology, Geography, Environmental Education, IT, Use of Technologies, History, Health education, Economics and Business studies, Arts, Mathematics.
This project offers a lot of possibilities for students and teachers to get many benefits and to develop themselves further. The participants will learn European and patriotic values, enjoy long-life learning, compare the education systems, use their ICT skills, learning and teaching methods, make a contribution to unite Europe through active participation and involvement, be more self-confident, be in solidarity, improve their language skills (Latvian, Lithuanian, English), learn to stand in front of unknown people and present as a representative of their country , share interests and opinions, be proud of own country‘s history, customs and traditions, making sure in the uniqueness. Through mobility each country will present museums, heritage sites, national parks, geographical features, language, songs, dances, cuisine by direct contacts and using ICT. Taking part in this project will help to promote national identity by learning about important historical and heritage sites and developing an understanding of their own country. Each institution will try to do its best to implement planned thematic activities for implementation the aims of the project.
This project offers a lot of possibilities for students and teachers to develop themselves further. Therefore the motivation for them is:

-to cooperate no matter what nationality, social background, physical conditions or age people have;
